Carbon reduction plan
InfraTech is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2040. From 2025 we are committed to measuring, reducing and offsetting our operational emissions.
- Net zero by 2040
- Baseline year 2024
Who are we?
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our era. Countries across the world are committed to reducing emissions and meeting net zero goals by 2050.
We are InfraTech Systems, an organisation providing IT services that help organisations increase their efficiency, reduce their costs, secure their data and create an IT strategy that meets their needs in an ever-changing technology landscape.
Here at InfraTech Systems, we take our responsibility towards the planet seriously and are committed to reducing our emissions in line with the UK’s net zero plan and its 2050 goals, based on SBTi guidelines. We are starting our journey to support reduction targets in line with the global ambition to limit warming to 1.5°C. We are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2040 across the scopes defined below.
Baseline emission footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced before any emission reduction strategies were introduced. A baseline emission footprint provides a reference point against which emission reductions can be measured. We have taken 2024 as our baseline year.
The GHG Protocol has defined three scopes of emissions to categorise the different kinds of emissions a company or organisation creates. The scopes correlate to who ‘owns’ those emissions and the level of control applicable to changing those emission levels at each stage. Scope one covers direct emissions from sources a company owns or controls, whereas scopes two and three are indirect emissions that result from the company’s activities but come from sources it does not own or control.
- 01
Scope one emissions
Emissions a company makes directly, from sources it owns or controls - 02
Scope two emissions
Emissions the company makes indirectly, such as by buying energy - 03
Scope three emissions
Emission sources that are more external to a specific organisation, such as those across the supply chain

Note on NA*: InfraTech Systems is a service company working in technology, consulting and outsourcing. Our services are delivered over digital and mobile networks, which do not require physical transportation and distribution. The emissions from the electricity used to deliver our services to clients are already accounted for under scope one and scope two. This category is therefore not applicable to us, and we have not calculated the GHG emissions associated with it.
Emissions reduction targets
In 2025 we committed to becoming net zero by 2040, with near-term targets to achieve by 2030. Our targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are in line with a 1.5°C warming scenario. We are in the early phase of our net zero journey, and yearly improvements will be communicated through our carbon reduction plan.
Our commitment involves an 80% reduction in our scope one and two emissions by 2030 against the baseline year and a 50% reduction in scope three emissions during the same period. We are committed to extending our climate action into supplier engagement, client services and market advocacy. Our long-term goal is to reduce our scope one and two emissions by 100% by 2035 against the baseline year with a 70% reduction in scope three emissions during the same period.
We are a growing business, and our current headcount of 15 employees is expected to double by the end of FY 2026/27. Our decarbonisation plan will adapt as we grow, and we aim to reduce our tCO₂e per employee each year in line with our overall carbon reduction roadmap.
What we are doing about it
Our key initiatives in 2025 to reduce carbon emissions:
- Baselining our emissions for 2024
- Hybrid working model (60% WFH)
- Responsible business travel, using online platforms to connect with stakeholders
- Cloud-based IT infrastructure
- Electric company vehicles
- Environmentally conscious supply chain partners
- Carbon offsetting initiatives such as tree planting
Short-term initiatives (2025 to 2030):
- Adopting an energy management system
- Submitting science-based targets in line with SBTi guidance
- Collecting detailed emission data to improve emission tracking and reporting
- Employee engagement programmes and training
- Using renewable energy in our operations
- Circular use of our company IT assets (laptops, desktops and so on)
- Waste recycling and less plastic in our operations
- Carbon offsetting through verified carbon sequestration programmes
Emissions monitoring and tracking
With 2024 set as our baseline year, it will be communicated internally and externally, and tracking will begin. Progress will be reviewed annually, and any changes needed to this carbon reduction plan will be made to achieve our goals. All communication will present data and progress transparently. A year-by-year emission reduction report will be provided, along with the actions taken to reduce emissions.
