Attackers are using AI. Your defence should be too
AI has made phishing smarter, malware cheaper to produce and deepfake fraud genuinely convincing. Attacks are faster, more targeted and much harder to spot than they were even a year ago.
InfraTech delivers AI-enhanced monitoring, detection and response, built into the way your organisation already runs rather than bolted on beside it. One partner for managed IT and managed cyber security, so protection is part of the service instead of a separate conversation.
Need Cyber Essentials Plus? We hold it ourselves and take organisations through the audit. See how that works.
- ISO 27001 information security
- ISO 9001 quality management
- Cyber Essentials Plus certified, and we help you get there too
- 24/7 UK based monitoring
- Enterprise and public sector delivery
The old advice no longer catches it
“Look for spelling mistakes” stopped being useful advice the moment attackers started writing with the same tools everyone else uses.
- Phishing that reads properly. Well written, contextually accurate, and often referencing a real project or a real colleague.
- Deepfake voice and video. A finance team member taking a call from someone who sounds exactly like the person they report to.
- Malware produced at scale. Cheaper to make, faster to vary, harder for signature-based tools to recognise.
- Backups targeted first. Attackers go for the recovery path before the live data, because a business with no backup pays.
- Identity is the front door. Most incidents now start with credentials rather than a technical exploit.
- Shadow AI. Staff pasting commercially sensitive material into tools nobody approved and nobody can see.
A simple security journey, in plain English
Most organisations strengthen protection step by step rather than all at once. Not sure where you are on that journey? We will tell you after the assessment, and we will tell you if you do not need to move yet.
- 01
EDR
Endpoint detection and response. Real-time monitoring and response on the laptops, servers and devices themselves. Affordable at any size, and the right starting point for most organisations. - 02
XDR
Extended detection and response. The same idea widened across email, identity, cloud and network, so a threat that touches three systems is seen as one incident rather than three unrelated alerts. - 03
MDR
Managed detection and response. Our people watching it around the clock and acting on what they see. The tooling is only half the answer, somebody has to be awake at three in the morning.

Attackers go for your backups first
Ransomware crews learned years ago that encrypting live data is not enough. If the recovery path still works, the business restores and refuses to pay. So the backups get hit first, quietly, sometimes weeks before anything visible happens.
Our managed backup and disaster recovery service is joined up with the security service rather than run alongside it. Backups are validated automatically, and the deletion and encryption patterns typical of a ransomware run are treated as a security signal, not a storage error.
The question that matters is not whether you have backups. It is when someone last proved they restore.
Get Cyber Essentials Plus certified, with us alongside you
Cyber Essentials Plus is the UK government backed certification that independently verifies your protections actually work. It is increasingly a condition of doing business, particularly on public sector frameworks and in supply chains where the client has their own audit to pass.
We hold it ourselves, and we take organisations through it as a service, whether you are starting from nothing or have failed an assessment once already.
- Gap assessment. Where you stand today against the five controls: firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection and patching. Written down, with the fixes in priority order.
- Remediation. We fix what is missing, or work alongside your own team while they do, with the evidence captured as we go rather than reconstructed later.
- Evidence pack. The self assessment answered properly and the supporting evidence gathered, so the assessor is not guessing and neither are you.
- The audit itself. Support through the independent Cyber Essentials Plus assessment, the on-site or remote testing, and anything the assessor asks to see.
Worth saying plainly: certification is a floor, not a ceiling. It proves a baseline, and the managed service above is what keeps it true between audits. The full process, step by step, is on our Cyber Essentials Plus certification page.
Regulated and client-audited organisations
- Financial services
- Insurance
- Retail
- Public sector
- Transport
- Manufacturing
- Charity
- Professional services
- Legal
- Accountancy
Different regulators, same underlying problem: you have to be able to evidence what happened, not just describe your intentions.
In professional services, legal and accountancy, the pressure usually arrives through client security questionnaires rather than a regulator. The questions are the same ones, asked by someone who can take their business elsewhere.
One partner for the IT and the security
- Security is built into how the business runsWhen the same team patches the estate and watches the alerts, there is no gap between the two to fall through. One number to ring at three in the morning, and nobody arguing about whether it is an IT problem or a security problem.
- Named people, not a ticket queueYou get analysts who know your estate and recognise what normal looks like on it, which is most of what catching an incident early comes down to.
- Certified ourselvesISO 27001, ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, so we are held to what we recommend, and we take clients through the same audit.
- Proportionate adviceWe will tell you when you do not need the next tier yet. Selling you MDR you cannot use is not a win for either of us.
- AI expertise in the same buildingShadow AI and the risks that come with AI adoption are a live problem, and we cover both sides of it: the defence, and the safe way to adopt.
